A portrait commission - Gemma as a child.

This commission actually came from my wife and is a portrait that I painted of my step daughter Gemma. The reference photograph was very small and aged (it was taken about 18 years ago) but was quite clear and is one of my wife' favourite photographs, there was of course no fee.

Gemma - step by step process.

This was a photograph that I hadn't really seen before and I couldn't believe the changes in Gemma as she's gotten older. My wife and I were talking about this and said that she would love a painting that combined pictures of her through 3 stages of her life as a baby,as a child and as an adult. A 'Circle of Life' format - this would be the mid stage as a child.
